Clean Water with a Magnet
There are now quite a few companies who manufacture magnetic cleaners for central heating systems. They now have made it more comprehensive. Surbiton Plumbers fit magnetic cleaner units. Your central heating system will probably have been installed for quite a number of years now. This means that there will undoubtedly be a huge buildup of sludgy mess living in the system. This is mostly rust from the pipes. The best characteristic of metal is that it will be attracted by a magnetic source. So it makes sense to apply a magnetic source to the heating system to get rid of all the muck and mess.Fitting the Magnetic Cleaner:The unit works by routing the water carrying the metallic particles past a magnet and trapping them.Initially you will need to drain the whole central heating system, then, cut into the pipework at an easy access point. This will normally be on the return pipe that sits below the boiler. The kit can then be fitted. It comes with its own isolating valves. Always read and work to the manufacturers instructions completely, they are quite basic to understand. If you are not confident to do this yourself you can always call a professional like a Surbiton Plumber who understands magnetic cleaning systems. When the kit is fitted the system can be re-filled. Many variations of these kits exist so make sure you install the one that is right for your system. When the unit is installed you will just need to take out and clean the magnet now and again, this will probably be once around the three month period to begin with. Once a year after this will be fine. These kits can be used to add a corrosion inhibitor to the system, by isolating at their valves and opening them up.
